Challenging TCR Return for O’Keeffe at Sandown

Dylan O’Keeffe has finished ninth overall in his return to the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series at Sandown, aboard the Autoglym-backed Ashley Seward Motorsport Lynk & Co.

O’Keeffe qualified 10th and improved to ninth in Race 1, a result he repeated in Races 2 and 3.

“In qualifying, we were battling some understeer which affected our ability to exit the slow corners leading onto Sandown’s long straights, and that pretty much set the tone for the weekend,” O’Keeffe said.

“We gradually improved the car over the weekend and we were doing similar lap times to the front-runners, but the car’s strengths weren’t in areas where it was easy to pass, which made it tough going.

“In the last race, I had some good battles but the tyres faded towards the end, so I just focused on bringing the car home.”

O’Keeffe said he was thankful to the Ashley Seward Motorsport team for the opportunity to race at Sandown.

“It was good to reunite with Ash, and a lot of fun racing in TCR again; it was also good to get some seat time ahead of the start of the Carrera Cup Championship next month.”

O’Keeffe’s full plans for the 2024 Porsche Carrera Cup will be announced shortly.
