Dylan O’Keeffe has combined with Garth Walden and Brett Hobson to win the Pro-Am Class in the 2026 Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour aboard the RAM Motorsport/GWR Australia Mercedes-AMG GT3, the trio finishing on the lead lap in a fine 13th outright.
O’Keeffe completed three separate stints in the race, including the run to the chequered flag in the final hour, and said the class victory – his third in Australia’s international endurance race – was the result of a flawless team performance across the entire 12 hours.
“It’s not very often you have an endurance race where everything goes according to plan, but we had that sort of day today,” O’Keeffe said.
“The three of us all had strong pace early and we were able to build up a sizeable lead over our class rivals.
“By around half race distance, we were more than a lap ahead of our main opposition, so from there it was just a case of managing our pace, minimising risks and making the right strategic calls.
“Brett and Garth both drove brilliantly – they were fast and mistake-free – so when I hopped in the car there was no real pressure.
“The GWR boys executed everything perfectly – all our pit stops were efficient and the strategy calls were spot-on.
“In the second half of the race there was a red flag which meant we had to reconfigure our strategy to ensure all three drivers completed their minimum requirements, but by that stage we were well and truly on the front foot, so it didn’t really make any difference.
“A massive thank you to the entire team for their efforts, and for the car owner Mike Sheargold for the opportunity.”
O’Keeffe said the result is a great momentum-builder heading into the 2026 season.
“I’ll be confirming my racing program for this season shortly, but let’s just say this result is a fantastic boost for myself and a lot of the other people involved in our 2026 plans,” O’Keeffe concluded.
