Dylan O’Keeffe is expecting the West Circuit at Shell V-Power Motorsport Park to produce plenty of entertainment for the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series when it visits the South Australian venue this weekend.
The 3.4km West configuration of the track includes the long front straight, but takes out some of the high-speed corners around the back of the circuit and adds another long braking zone, which O’Keeffe is predicting to produce plenty of overtaking.
“When we’ve raced at The Bend in the past, we’ve used the International Circuit, so racing on the West layout will present some new challenges,” O’Keeffe said.
“Overall, I think it will keep the cars closer together, which should make for exciting racing.
Aboard his Autoglym Lynk & Co run by the Ashley Seward Motorsport squad, O’Keeffe experienced mixed results last time out at Phillip Island, but now has the advantage of removing the success ballast from his car.
“At Phillip Island, the extra weight was definitely noticeable in a straight line, so it will be a relief to take it out this weekend,” he said.
The TCR round commences with practice on Friday, followed by qualifying and racing over the weekend; the Saturday and Sunday action will be shown live on 7Plus.
