O’Keeffe to Take On Streets of Singapore

Oscar Piastri won’t be the only Aussie tackling the Marina Bay Street Circuit next weekend, with Dylan O’Keeffe announcing a deal to contest Rounds 13 and 14 of Carrera Cup Asia, supporting the Singapore Airlines Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix.

It will be O’Keeffe’s second consecutive appearance in Carrera Cup Asia, and he will reunite with the Toro Racing outfit – the same squad in which he contested the previous three rounds in Indonesia.

O’Keeffe’s Porsche Type 992 GT3 Cup car will be backed by National Make Good Solutions, with support from ID_Land, Lowbake, KASE Group, Sheargold Group and Tempur.

“I can’t wait to race on the Singapore street circuit, it will be unreal!” O’Keeffe said.

“I’ve grown up watching the Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix on TV and I’ve attended it as a fan; it’s such a spectacular track, especially under lights.

“Being a street circuit, the concrete walls are never too far away and there are consequences if you get things wrong, but the Marina Bay track has some decent passing spots as well.”

O’Keeffe says the knowledge he gained in the Carrera Cup Indonesia event will serve him well in Singapore.

“It was good working with the Toro Racing squad in Indonesia and learning how they operate; now I understand their systems and processes, I’m sure we can hit the ground running from the first practice session.

“My regular Carrera Cup Australia engineer, Rob Palermo is making the trip with me, so it will be good to have his input as well.”

O’Keeffe also highlighted the benefits of additional Porsche miles for his Carrera Cup Australia title bid.

“There’s no doubt that the more time you spend in a Carrera Cup car, the better you become – look at people who’ve raced Porsches overseas, come to Australia and dominated.

“I feel the extra seat time in Carrera Cup Asia will definitely get me in the zone for the next Carrera Cup Australia round at Bathurst.”

This weekend’s format consists of a single practice session, qualifying and a pair of 30-minute races.
