Stunning Singapore Podium for O’Keeffe in Carrera Cup Asia

Dylan O’Keeffe has wrapped up his cameo appearances in the 2025 Carrera Cup Asia in fine style, finishing second outright in front of a huge crowd at the Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix on Sunday evening.

O’Keeffe started both of the weekend’s 30 minute races – Rounds 13 and 14 of the Asian championship – from fourth on the grid after progressively improving throughout practice and qualifying in his Toro Racing Porsche.

“We did the entire practice session on a single set of tyres, as I wanted to prioritise learning the track,” O’Keeffe said.

“In qualifying, I found some extra time in myself and was able to land on the second row of the grid for both races.”

After a problematic start in Round 13, O’Keeffe crossed the finish line in fourth but was demoted to eighth with a post-race penalty.

“I almost stalled at the start, and although I was able to recover, I was caught out by dusty conditions on the inside of the track, which caught me out under brakes and caused me to make contact with another car in the first corner,” O’Keeffe explained.

“While it wasn’t an ideal result, our speed throughout the race gave me plenty of confidence in the car’s performance and I felt we had the potential for a strong result in the second race.”

In Round 14, O’Keeffe moved up to third after an exciting skirmish, in which he ran two and three-wide with his rivals for more than half of the first lap.

With clear track at his disposal, O’Keeffe set some of the fastest laps of the race as he hunted down the leaders, eventually forcing the second-placed driver into a mistake at the first chicane.

“That was an epic race!” O’Keeffe said.

“The start was exciting, and then we had a really consistent race car which enabled me to catch the driver ahead and put me in the perfect position to capitalise when he ran wide with a few laps to go.

“A big thank you to the Toro Racing squad – in the five races I did with them, I felt like we kept improving and definitely saved our best performance until last.”

There’s no rest for O’Keeffe, who now faces a tight turnaround for the next Carrera Cup Australia round at Bathurst, with practice taking place this Thursday.

“Singapore was a fantastic weekend, and has definitely put me in a great mindset for the rest of the Australian season – bring on the Mountain!” he concluded.
