Reigning Porsche Carrera Cup Australia Champion Dylan O’Keeffe says his experience at Mount Panorama will provide the ideal platform to turn his season around.
While O’Keeffe kicked off his title defence with second place overall in the season opener at the Australian Grand Prix, subsequent rounds have been tough and as a result, he has slipped to fifth on the points table.
“It’s no secret that our season has been less than ideal so far – there have been glimpses of pace, especially in the races, but apart from the Grand Prix, we haven’t been able to put a complete weekend together,” O’Keeffe said.
“Fortunately, the Mountain is a track where experience counts for a lot and I’ve had a pretty good run there recently – I won the TCR round at the end of 2024, finished second overall in Carrera Cup last year and scored a class win with Garth Walden and Brett Hobson earlier this year.”

The format for this weekend reverts to a trio of sprint races, following the twin endurance format that has been used for the last couple of rounds and uniquely, there will be just a single practice session on Thursday morning before drivers launch into qualifying.
“We just have the one 50-minute practice session on Thursday, but it will work out fine – it’s a chance for us to get laps, get into a rhythm, assess the balance of the car and make some changes if necessary.
“Then we have races over the next three days; the Sunday morning race is one of my favourites of the year, because it’s the curtain-raiser for the Bathurst 1000 and you can really feel the atmosphere building up before the start of the Great Race.”
All this weekend’s sessions will be shown live on Fox Sports/Kayo, while the three races will also be live on Channel 7.
