Dylan O’Keeffe will return to the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS at Phillip Island this weekend, sharing the My Land Partners Audi R8 GT3 with Andrew Fawcet in the Pro-Am Class.
The Audi is the same car O’Keeffe, along with Fawcet and Daniel Gaunt, drove to victory in the Silver Class at the Bathurst 12 Hour.
The circuit is also one where O’Keeffe also has past form on the board, qualifying on pole position (in an Audi R8) for the Phillip Island GT 101 endurance race in 2018 and scoring a pair of TCR race wins in 2019.
With a long break between Porsche Carrera Cup rounds, O’Keeffe is looking forward to some valuable seat time this weekend.
“There’s a big gap in the Carrera Cup schedule between the Grand Prix and Darwin, so it’s good to break it up with a couple of other events – the Bathurst 6 Hour, and now the Phillip Island GT round,” O’Keeffe said.
“Andrew, Daniel and I had a great run at Bathurst, and Andrew and I really enjoyed working with each other – like me, he’s a very calm and methodical driver so our personalities suit each other.”
With its fast, flowing layout, O’Keeffe expects the Phillip Island circuit to suit the Audi’s characteristics.
“The Audi has always been well-suited to tracks where you have to carry a lot of mid-corner speed, and Phillip Island is certainly a circuit where the corner speeds are high,” O’Keeffe said.
“The field in the Pro-Am class is competitive, especially with some of the Audi factory drivers in the field, so I’m looking forward to competing against them and seeing how we stack up.”
This weekend’s pair of one-hour races will be shown live on Stan Sport.
